Pitstone Windmill and the Ivinghoe Hills - Landscape Photo

This photograph captures one of Buckinghamshire’s most recognisable landmarks — Pitstone Windmill, with the Ivinghoe Hills rising gently in the distance. Taken from the edge of a freshly cut corn field, the scene is full of warm tones and late-day light that perfectly reflect the rural character of this part of the Chilterns.

I used a neutral density filter and an orange foreground filter to bring out the colour in the sky and enrich the golden hues of the field. The combination created a striking contrast between the deep sky and the sunlit textures of the landscape.

Pitstone is a favourite spot of mine to photograph — peaceful, open, and full of history. This image celebrates the beauty of the Buckinghamshire countryside.
