Buttermere Panorama Photo II – Elevated View of Buttermere
Landscape Panorama Photo Gallery by Matt Phillips
Rannerdale Knotts, Buttermere, The Lake District, Cumbria, UK.
Captured during a walk up Rannerdale Knotts, this elevated panorama reveals a sweeping view over Buttermere and its surrounding Lakeland fells. The foreground features trees, patchwork fields, and the clustered buildings of the small Buttermere village, creating a charming introduction to the wider landscape. From this vantage point, the eye is naturally drawn toward the expanse of Buttermere itself, calm and reflective beneath the rising slopes.
Beyond the water, colourful and dramatic mountains encircle the valley, their rugged forms creating depth and contrast against the softer tones of the sky. Gentle white clouds drift above the peaks, adding atmosphere without obscuring the grandeur of the scene. This panoramic photograph perfectly captures the layered beauty of the Lake District — from village life and farmland to the imposing drama of its iconic fells.
