Canada Goose IV, Buckinghamshire - Wildlife Photo
Wildlife Photo Gallery by Matt Phillips
Canada Goose at Broughton, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, UK.
Canada Goose IV captures a close encounter with one of Britain’s most familiar and charismatic water birds. Taken at Broughton Crossing on the Aylesbury Arm of the Grand Union Canal in Buckinghamshire, this wildlife photo shows a Canada Goose looking almost directly at the camera, its eye bright and alert, its head turned just slightly to one side.
The fine detail of the goose’s feathers, combined with the soft natural background, draws the viewer into the photo and creates an intimate connection with the bird. Canada Geese are a common sight along the waterways of Buckinghamshire, yet each encounter reveals a unique personality and presence.
Part of my Aylesbury wildlife photography series, Canada Goose IV celebrates the quiet beauty of everyday British nature and the moments of connection found along the canal paths and countryside lakes of southern England.
